Another new day in Genoa City finds Nick and Phyllis at the magazine. She's spending money like it's going out of style. Is it okay to buy all this stuff? With Nick it is. He wants the place to look "classy". Besides, "Money is no object". You've got to spend money to make money. Happy now, Phyllis mentions having met "the other Newman". She's only said a few words to him, but she already knows that Adam is not a "typical" Newman, that he's in over his head, and may not survive.

In his office, Victor is having a flashback to when he told Nick that he was trying to groom him for a great future, but that he didn't like Nick's callous attitude when he wasn't even out of college. Then Victor has another flashback to what he told Nick earlier this week. As Victor comes back to real time, Adam walks in. "Good morning, Mr. Newman."

At the outhouse, Victoria and J.T. are getting ready to leave for work. She's not looking forward to another day of dealing with Adam.

The mansion finds Jeff on the phone with Jack leaving a message that he's made a decision about selling his share of the house. Coming down the stairs, Gloria hears and the banister comes off in her hand. So that's what Jeff was doing with the screwdriver. Reminding Jeff that he'll have to sell the house over her dead body, Gloria complains about Jeff trying to kill her.

In Los Angeles, Sharon tells Jack that she wants to work for the magazine. Well why didn't she say so? Because she didn't want to disappoint him. Whatever Sharon wants to do is okay with Jack. Ben Hollander can run the foundation. Ashley shows up as Eric summons Jack into his office.

Adam saying that NE is very "complex" made Victor laugh. Yes, NE is multifaceted, so why doesn't Adam pick something and focus on it. Why, Adam already has - Beauty of Nature. It's NE's weakest link and Adam wants to hire a celebrity environmentalist as its spokesperson. Victor wonders, what about the previous spokesperson? "She's my ex-daughter-in-law", he says of Sharon before adding that no matter what Adam may want, all decisions must be approved by Victoria.

Adam went on to tell Victor about going to Indigo last night, but he couldn't stay long because there is so much work to do. This dedication to duty impressed Victor.

Gloria and Jeff argue about who could have tampered with the banister until Jeff says that the house brings out the worst in them and therefore they should move. Gloria refused. Jeff can turn her in for all she cares. If he does she'll get him for blackmail. Jeff laughs it off; he wants some sex and he wants it now. Gloria says no; she'd rather go to jail.
